1.8.2009 - 30.8.2009
DM
work site in the Edinburgh College of Art.
Stone carving project and exhibition started from the first of August to the end of August. Ten artists developed their own works by own way. Milestone Project started some years before in the Edinburgh College of Art. They researched on the stone from the all our culture which are from geologys, architectres, historys, arts, techniques and tools. I think this project makes us to recognize stone's potentiality in contemporary world, so it's very important project for our culture. There were 11 artists and 5 assistants in the stone carving project from all over the world. We worked at courtyard in the Edinburgh College of Art. Edinburgh city was holding a big art festival in August, so there were a lot of people in city. But our site was the most noisy and dusty spot in city.
Jake Harvey (Scotland), Peter Randall Page (England), Carlos Lizariturry Moro (Croatia), Joel Fisher (U.S.A.), Takeshi Hayashi (Japan), Suanne Specht (Germany), Daniel Silver (Israel), Sybill Pasche (Switzerland), Gerard Mas (Spain), Jessica Harrison (Scotland), and I.
My works Every hole was connected in the middle of a stone. So it can make very soft and big sound when we slap or blow a hole.
March in 2010 - April in 2009
All sculpture's exhibition will be held at Yorkshire Sculpture Park on the next spring, and then will be traveling exhibition in UK.
