Minnesota ROCKS 2006

my work from top view"Minnesota Rocks" which is International Sculpture Symposium in Saint Paul Minnesota USA was held on the 20the of May to the end ofJune 2006.
I am the first time to participate International Sculpture Symposium in USA.
I didn't take any tools which I have used in Japan, because I wanted to do my work in local situation. Of course I couldn't do my usual works, so I must consider what to do in Saint Paul. I could find two stones and I felt a kind of the pioneering spirit in this area.
I started to dig a hole in a limestone which shape is just same as natural stone which is very old (20 billion years ago) and very heavy also very beautiful stone.
Then I looked for very old pave stone and brick in this area, and I put old pave stones into a hole.
I thought I would like to express something between a human history and nature's memory.

I finished main work a little bit earlier. So I made a stray cat.
I like the feeling of stray cat and I have thought that "I would rather be a stray cat than a lion in a zoo.".
